Thammasat University

Thammasat University, located on the Chao Phya River in central Bangkok, was founded in 1933 and is the second oldest of state universities. It has since become one of Thailand’s leading institutions of higher learning with the current enrollment of over 22,000 students, including approximately 4,600 graduate students.

To support growth, in 1986, Thammasat University expanded to a new campus north of Bangkok: the “Rangsit Campus”, where the 1998 Asian Game and 2007 Universiade Game were held. This new campus will soon be the home to undergraduate students of all faculties while the main campus will be kept for graduate studies.
